Jonathan Loden
Intern
Hi, my name is Jonathan Loden. I’m originally from Joplin and currently a master’s-level student working toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I come from a very large family—I’m the youngest of eight children and have 29 nieces and nephews—which has given me a unique perspective on how someone can feel both surrounded by people and still feel alone. I played college soccer on a very diverse team and was the only American on the roster. That experience taught me a lot about culture, connection, and the importance of seeing and valuing people for who they are and where they come from. I’ve experienced my own share of loss and difficult life experiences, which is a big part of why I chose to go into this field. I know how heavy and isolating life can feel at times, and I want to be someone who can walk alongside others during those moments. In my work, I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches. I focus on helping clients better understand their thoughts, build coping skills, and feel more empowered in their daily lives—especially for those who may not have strong support systems. I don’t believe success in therapy means a client simply “likes” me. To me, success looks like a client growing, learning, and becoming a healthier version of themselves over time. I try to create a space that feels supportive, honest, and safe—where you can feel heard, but also challenged when needed. Your story is your own. You’re the main character, and I’m here to support you, guide you, and help you work toward the life you want to build. Outside of work, I love sports, being outdoors, having real conversations, and trying new food. I also have a Golden Retriever who comes along on most of my adventures. My favorite shows are Game of Thrones and Grey’s Anatomy.
