Aliscia S. Heard

Solcollin Heard, who goes by Aliscia, has a Master of Education in Counseling and Marital and Family Therapy from Stephens College as well as a Bachelor of the Arts in Psychology with a minor in Black Studies from the University of Missouri - Columbia.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor (LPC-S), a Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor (RPT-S), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Rostered, AutPlay® Therapy Level II Certified, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) trained, Intensive Treatment for Complex Trauma (ITCT) trained and trained in Brain-spotting.  Aliscia has been working with children, adolescents, adults, and families since 2010 in both private and agency settings.   She is a member of the Missouri Mental Health Network as well as a past President and a current member of the Missouri Association for Play Therapy. 

Aliscia’s approach to counseling and the counseling relationship is to meet each person where they are in a joint effort to bring about change in a person’s life.  She feels that each person is unique, as is each therapeutic relationship, and it is that relationship that is important and a great indicator of therapeutic change.  During this process, Aliscia strives to aid in learning new ways to handle challenges more effectively, and to process material differently to help improve quality of life.  She utilizes an integrated, interpersonal approach in counseling, personalized to meet each individual’s needs.
