My name is Jillian Nickelson, and I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor from St. Louis. I am passionate about finding meaningful ways to improve the lives of others as they navigate life's challenges, transitions, and everyday struggles.
With over 10 years of experience serving clients in various settings, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of how to support them through many of life's difficulties. I hold a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Maryville University in St. Louis.
I began my career as a registered behavioral technician with the Missouri Department of Mental Health, where I supported families in need by helping individuals access appropriate services, develop support systems, and create effective de-escalation strategies to remain active in the community. Since then, I have continued to grow in the mental health field, becoming trained in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).
As a busy mom to my amazing two-year-old and a neurodivergent individual myself, I have had the privilege of experiencing the power of therapy firsthand. With the proper support, I overcame many of my own challenges. Now, I am dedicated to helping others find their own path to achieving their goals.
