Emily is an associate with The Heriford House, who is under the direct supervision of Melissa M. Williams, LPC. Emily graduated from the University of Missouri in May 2020 with an M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology. During her practicum at the Integrative Behavioral Health Center in the MU Family Impact Center, Emily worked primarily with clients from marginalized populations and is driven to continue to support minorities in the community. She has experience working with adults from a wide range of identities who struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, and trauma. Emily provides a safe and unconditionally supportive space for her clients to feel comfortable engaging in a collaborative therapeutic process. Emily primarily uses cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques to assist clients in reaching their goals and becoming agents of their own change. She plans to participate in specialized trainings in couples counseling, cognitive processing therapy for trauma, and evidenced-based treatments for depressive and anxiety disorders.
