Hi! I'm Emily Tarby. I'm an LPC licensed in the state of Missouri. I graduated from The University of Missouri’s ESCP program in 2020 with my M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology and have been working with clients from all backgrounds via telehealth ever since!
My goal as a therapist is to provide an unconditionally supportive, comfortable, and safe space to work through difficult thoughts and feelings. I want to help client’s feel confident enough to take charge of their change. Together, we’ll explore emotions, change negative thinking and behaviors, and help find relief with a variety of coping and relaxation techniques. I’ll provide challenge, encouragement, support, guidance, and connection.
I have experience working with individuals from all types of backgrounds who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral issues, bipolar disorder, relationship concerns, career concerns, life transitions, and more. I have a particular interest in working with underrepresented populations and young adults. I take an eclectic approach using non-directive, person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and acceptance & commitment techniques to help clients reach their goals. I value authenticity, openness, and honesty. My goal is to be an active part of individual change & work alongside you, not in front of you.
